Before the fun, there's always a little work to do. Gerry McGonigle, Stan Jones, Mark Smith and Tony Hoewisch are shown here setting up the canopies that will help protect the food and the guests from the bright Colorado sun.

Now that the awnings and tables have been positioned, the tablecloths go on. Special thanks goes to Tony Hoewisch for providing logistical support and trucking the tables and canopies to the picnic site.

Stan Jones, Les Bailey, Mark Lambuth, Molly Gauss, and Peggy Lambuth enjoy the shade of one of the pavilions. In the background, Joetta Hoewisch is on her cell phone arranging for a very crucial picnic resource .... access to the restrooms in Bldg. B.

After the first burst of activity, the setup crew enjoys a chat during a lull. As is usually the case, our ever-active president can be seen in the background heading off on yet another errand.

The tables begin to show signs of life as food and supplies start to accumulate. Pictured in the foreground are Cheryl Moloney, Claudia Christiansen, and Evelyn Wall.

More food starts to arrive as the crew is hard at work arranging all the goodies for easy access.

The picnic, like our meetings, provides a wonderful opportunity to visit with old friends. Here Larry Koperski, Paul Goble, and Roger Christiansen socialize as the crowd gathers.

The members give their attention to Joetta as she makes an announcement.

Ken Nichols and Stan Farr enjoy some lemonade in the morning sun.

The dinner bell has rung and the assault on all the wonderful food has begun.

Conversation at the table is very focused. "What a feast!" "Did you try some of that ....?" "I don't think I'm going to need any dinner tonight."

Let the games begin! After lunch, our more competitive members engaged in a game of Holey Board. John Favinger is shown here tossing a ring with the confidence of a master as Ardelle Koperski, Myrna Favinger, and George Blinn look on.

Just as in horsehoes, a variety of styles can be observed. Here, Ardelle Koperski's toss is caught in mid-air as it arcs toward the target. It seems to be a pretty good pitch from this angle.

Mark Lambuth watches as Wanda McGonigle makes her throw,
and it appears that this one is running dead center.

Now it's Mark's turn. Competition ran hot and heavy as the teams worked their way through the ladder.

Polly Tounzen should be pretty good at this by now. She demonstrates her experienced techniquewhile Les Bailey looks on. In the background, Polly's husband, Chris watches the action.

OK, I think I've got it. Les applies the lesson he's has just gotten from Polly. It does appear that he was an attentive student.

Emerging as the final winners of this hard-fought contest were Les Bailey and Wanda McGonigle.

And finally, there is always a need for the clean-up crew to wrap things up. Joetta Hoewisch and Mary Lou Bailey share a laugh with Roger & Claudia Christiansen.

What a beautiful Colorado day we enjoyed with our HP/Agilent family.
