Our Club's President, Joetta Hoewisch chats
with the Seniors as they gather.

The two performers from the Top Hat Strutters smile for the camera as they wait to go on.

Mendy Putman, Director of the Colorado Springs Senior Center, welcomes the guests and expresses the Center's appreciation to our Club for sponsoring the entertainment and refreshments.

Emcee Mark Lambuth introduces the first act.

The two ladies of the Top Hat Strutters demonstrated that you're never to old to thrill the crowd with an energetic tap dance routine.

During the show our emcee demonstrated a number of simple tricks and other things that he has found are useful in entertaining his grandkids. Here he shows the audience how to make a simple kazoo out of a soda straw.

As the crowd gives their undivided attention to the proceedings .........

Joetta shows the audience the dollar bill that she is about to give to Mark for a trick. In the center picture, she takes one last, loving look at it while reading the serial number, knowing that she probably will never see it again. After tearing it into several pieces, Mark says the magic words over the handkerchief. What happened? You guessed it.
The bill came back in pieces.
Mark's comment: "That trick never works!"

Fred Stilzer entertained the crowd with his jokes, songs and guitar playing.

Les and Mary Lou Bailey give a stirring rendition of
"The Mississippi Squirrel Gang".

The Top Hat Strutters patiently wait for the call for their second performance of the show.

The crowd really appreciated the energy demonstrated by these ladies.

The Mississippi River Band provided some really great music to entertain us.

The band was a big hit with the folks at the Senior Center.

Some just couldn't help themselves, and began dancing to the lively music. Even our Emcee and some of the other performers got involved.

They literally had them "dancing in the aisles".

Joetta just couldn't contain herself after awhile and had to join in the fun.

And, there was some line dancing as well.

Judging from the enthusiasm of the crowd during the show, we feel this was yet another very successful Senior Appreciation Day event sponsored by our Club.
